Harold James White

(November 20, 1944 – April 11, 2017)

Harold White, age 72, a lifelong carpenter and resident of Ponca City, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2017.

Harold was born on November 20, 1944 to Lola Scott and Jesse White. He graduated from Ponca City High School and entered into the United States Army. He was married and had two children, James and Lynn White Whitfield.

After returning home from the army, he moved to Arkansas City, Kansas and worked several years for Skyline Mobile Homes. His craftsmanship lead him to becoming an independent business man. Harold returned to Ponca City in the late 1970’s as an independent contractor. Harold remarried and was blessed with a second daughter, Rachel White-Young. In 1981 he opened his business, Creative Cabinets, and after many years in business he sold the business and retired. Anyone who knows Harold knew retirement would not suit him; he once again became an independent contractor and began flipping houses. His greatest enjoyment came from helping others and the opportunities to help family. You will find his craftsmanship’s in the business of his nieces and nephew in several locations in Ponca City. Besides his passion for work, Harold and his wife Marian enjoyed camping, fishing, and trips on the Harley.

He is survived by his wife, Marian White of Ponca City, his sister, Dorthy McAbee of Independence, MO. Also his children James White and children Kyle, Chelsea, and Alexis, Lynn Whitfield and child Sydni, all of Ponca City and Rachel and Brad Young and children Roman and Hadley, of Edmond, OK. Also his step-children Jim and Vickie Grantz of Enid, OK, Jennifer and Gilbert Campbell and child Grant of Maryville, TN, Lori and Bobby Holladay and children Hunter, Landon, Ellisabeth, and Marshal of Truman, AR. There are also many beloved nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lola White, his sister, Louise Sisco, a grandson, Dakota Levi Cowan, and a great nephew, Garret Wrangler Sisco.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Central Baptist Church at 3:00 pm located at 1732 E Coleman Rd, Ponca City, Ok 74604. All family and friends are welcome. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Central Baptist Church.
