Gina Lynette Elkins

February 3, 1958 – November 11, 2017

Gina Lynette Rau Elkins, age 59, Ponca City resident, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her home.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the chapel at Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Gina was born on February 3, 1958 in Wellington, Kansas daughter of Gene and Nannette (Phillips) Rau, one of four children. She graduated in 1976 from Wellington High School. In 1994 she married George Elkins in Wellington, KS.

Gina spent most of her life as a housewife. She loved to cook, do crafts, and sew. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren. She was very loving. Gina was a collector of many things but loved farm animals and roosters most. Spending time with family and playing board games, as well as traveling to flea markets were activities Gina savored.

Survivors include her husband, George Elkins of Ponca City, OK, in-laws, Robert and Billie Elkins of Manteca, CA, daughter Ashley Colonnese of Wichita, KS, son Eric Elkins of Wichita, KS, 9 step-children, Ame Hagner of Arkansas City, KS, Amanda Rector of Arkansas City, KS, George Elkins Jr. of Winfield, KS, Mathew Elkins of SD, Andrew Elkins of TX, Heather Ditty, Naomi Hernandez, Vanessa Elkins, and Michelle Jacobs all of CA, sister, Michelle Rau of Smithfield, VA, brothers, Brian Rau of Geuda Springs, KS, and Greg Rau of Udall, KS, 33 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members and dear friends.

Gina is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Nannette Rau, great-grandparents, Alex Rau, Mary Rau, Pearl Phillips, William Phillips, and grandson Andrew Elkins II.
