Gerlaine “Geri” Sloan, 89, passed away on March 9, 2022, with her family by her side. Viewing will be Friday, March 11, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, March 12, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Trout Funeral Home. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Geri was born on September 3, 1932, in Ponca City, OK, to Benjamin and Clara (Gibble) Warner. She had five brothers and two sisters, all of whom were very close. She attended Ponca City schools and married James Elmer Sloan on March 6, 1949. They had two daughters, Brenda Petrie Ellis and Teresa Nash Martin. They moved to Orange County, California, in 1956, where Geri was employed by Alpha Beta grocery stores for eight years. In 1964, the family returned to Ponca City. Geri was employed by various businesses; including, Southwestern Stationary, a realtor for Century 21 and by Conoco, Inc.

Geri was a loving and beloved wife of 60 years, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved cooking, gardening and caring for her home and family. She enjoyed boating, skiing and dancing with her friends. They traveled to the Bahamas, various motor home trips to South Texas, Pine Island Resort at Grand Lake and a family trip to Lake Powell.

Geri is survived by two daughters, Brenda Ellis and Teresa Martin of Ponca City, OK; brothers, Bill Warner, Gene Warner and his wife, Sally; two sisters Jennie Craft and Carolyn Sue Chamberlain, all of Ponca City; brother-in-law, Carroll Sloan, of Yucca Valley, CA; sisters-in-law, Billie Sloan, of Irvine, CA and Arlene Warner, of Ponca City, OK; grandsons, Chad Petrie and his wife, Beth, of Ponca City, OK, MJ Nash and his wife, Terri, of Newkirk, OK and Matthew Ellis, of Oklahoma City, OK; step-granddaughter-in-law, Lynn (Martin) Lane and her husband, Terry, of Ponca City, OK; great-grandchildren, Evan James Petrie, Jacob Morgan Petrie, Dylan Nash, all of Ponca City; Harper Jane Ellis, of Oklahoma City, OK; step-grandchild, John Ellis and his wife, Holly, of Houston, TX; step-great-grandchildren, Colton and Callie Lane of Ponca City, OK, Ethan and Andrew Ellis of Houston, TX, Daniel Pameticky and his wife, Britney, of Newkirk, OK, Kaylyn Bowling and her husband, Brandon, of Blackwell, OK, and Ryan Meyers, of Newkirk, OK; step-great-great-grandchildren, Jozie, Jacy and June Pameticky and Laiden Meyers, all of Newkirk, OK.

Geri was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Benjamin and Clara Warner; mother and father-in-law, Quincy and Rosa Belle Sloan; brothers, Bennie Warner, Bob Dean Warner and his wife, Rose Marie and Wiley Warner; brothers-law, Lyndal Sloan, of Irvine, CA, Frank Sloan and his wife, Margaret, Estle Chamberlain, of Ponca City; sisters-in-law, Louise Wilson, of Palm Spring, CA and Karen Clark, of Victoria, TX; son-in-law, Robert “Steve” Martin of Ponca City, OK; great-grandson, Cody Nash of Newkirk, OK; nephew, Mark Sloan; nieces, Debbie Sloan Peters and Sherry Sloan of Irvine, CA, Amy Pameticky of Ponca City, OK and nephews, Mark Sloan and Mark Chamberlain of Ponca City, OK.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chad Petrie, MJ Nash, Matthew Ellis and great-grandsons, Evan Petrie, Jacob Petrie and Dylan Nash. Special thanks to Dr. Holden and his assistants. In addition, thanks to each of the Precise Home Health caregivers and Humanity Hospice caregivers.
