Obituary for Fannie Lou Linch Treat

Fannie Lou Linch Treat passed away May 28, 2017, in Knoxville Tenn., after a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 27, 1944.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Van H. Treat, Sr., of the home; two sons, Van II, Gatlinburg, Tenn., and John, Kodak, Tenn; her grandson, Trey Treat, and granddaughter, Jessica; two nieces and two nephews of the Dallas, Texas area.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and Louis Linch, of Ponca City and her sister, Ella Streller, Dallas, Texas.

Fannie was a 1962 graduate of Ponca City High School and attended college in Tonkawa. She worked for several years in treasury at Conoco. She and Van took over operation of the House of Hobbies on Grand Avenue, for a number of years, ending in 1988.

Fannie was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood. Fannie and Van have lived in the Smoky Mountains of east Tennessee for 26 years, where they owned Van H Treat Studio and Gallery. Their gallery was located at Dollywood Theme Park for five of those years. During the off season they traveled to art festivals all over the eastern U.S.

All who knew and loved Fannie will always remember her with smiles and laughter.
