Evelyn Marie Waggoner of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Saturday, January 09, 2016, in the Via Christi Village, Ponca City, Oklahoma, at the age of 74 years.

Evelyn Marie Waggoner was born on August 25, 1941, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Verle and Florence (Warren) Muret. She attended Prairie Chapel School through eighth grade and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1959. After graduating high school, she attended Ponca City Business College. Her first job was a secretary at attorney Marland Johnson’s office. She worked at Producer’s Grain, in Amarillo, Texas; received her FCC License in Georgia and worked at KALV in Alva, Oklahoma; helped on her family’s farm; worked at R and S Packing; worked at the Northern Oklahoma College cafeteria; and the Ponca City Hospital cafeteria. She married George Waggoner on December 11, 1970. She enjoyed gardening, caning, cooking, spending time with and attending her granddaughters activities and traveling and being with her companion, Benny. She liked going to Prairie Chapel United Methodist church and helping her church serve the Friendship Feast in Ponca City.

She is survived by one daughter, Tammi Miller and husband Travis of Cherokee; two sons, Kevin Waggoner and wife Amy of Ponca City, and Dusty Waggoner of Ponca City; three granddaughters, Taylor Miller and Taryn Miller of Cherokee, and Zoey Waggoner of Ponca City; one sister, Glenda Pameticky of Ponca City; and companion, Benny Janda of Kildare.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Merlene Muret; and one brother, Neal Muret.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, Ponca City, Oklahoma, with Rev. Sharon Cochran, Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Oklahoma.

Her family will be receiving guests, 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2016, at Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma.

Honorary casketbearers will be DeWayne Muret and Dennis Muret. Casketbearers will be Rowdy Andrews, Bryan Overman, Jeff Pameticky, Roger Allen, Larry Sneath and Gavin Sneath.
