After graduation, Jonet met Eddie Dawson when he moved to Shattuck with a Conoco geophysics crew. Eddie was going to move, so they were married on December 23, 1949 in Shattuck. They were married for 59 years.

She and Eddie moved to Ponca City in 1965 and had two children, Lindsey Allen and Grant Edward Dawson.

In her free time, Jonet enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for family and friends. She crocheted and made many beautiful afghans for others. She enjoyed several ski trips as well. She worked at a daycare for several years and sang in the choir and played bells at church.

Jonet is survived by son Grant Edward Dawson, son Lindsey Allen Dawson and wife Annette; grandchildren Joshua Michael Dawson, Andrea Gonzales, Hunter Chase Dawson and wife Courtney, Trevor Caleb Dawson and wife Brittany; and two great-grandchildren Olivia Nell Dawson and Thatcher Wells Dawson.
