Vicki was born on July 31, 1938 to Talmadge “Crip” Cole and Orilla Mae Aldridge Cole in Wichita, KS. She was raised in California before returning to Wichita, KS during her teenage years. Vicki married Maurice D. Meador in 1955 in Wichita, KS, then moved to Braman in 1969. Their marriage flourished with the addition of three children. In 1982, Maurice passed away. In 1985, while out to go dancing, Vicki met Gene Smith from Shidler. Their feelings for each other were keen and strong, as their medical backgrounds and razor sharp wit drew them towards each other. They were married in 1985 and have celebrated 33 years of marriage. Vicki worked as a respiratory technician for the Blackwell Hospital and later the Ponca City Hospital, taking great care of her patients, getting to know them well before they were treated. Ever the giver, Vicki went to great lengths to look after others, especially her family, and was exceedingly proud of her grandchildren. Always a lady, classy, independent, loving, as well as being a diligent worker were attributes Vicki exemplified.
