E.J. Jensen – Veteran

February 20, 1939 – March 15, 2017

E.J. Jensen Longtime Ponca City resident passed away at his home Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with his family by his side. He was 78 years of age. E.J. was born on February 20, 1939 in Ponca City, OK to Erhardt Jensen and Ella ”Cordie” Johnson Jensen.

Graveside memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the Longwood Cemetery with Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK in care of Arrangements.

E.J. grew up in Oklahoma and he served his country in the U.S. Army for 6 years. E. J. Worked for ASC in Ponca City for over 25 years retiring in 2005. During his retirement E.J. enjoyed fishing and he would help his Sister and Brother in law deliver newspapers for the Ponca City News. While he was on his paper route he enjoyed stopping and visiting with his customers. He would also spend hours at a time playing ball with his faithful Boxer Daisy Mae.

Survivors include: 2 daughters Kimberly M. Jensen of the Home; Wanda Jensen Mehojah of Idaho. 1 step daughter; Mary Harker of Tulsa, OK. Also surviving are; sisters; Barbara and husband Charles Hudson of the Home and Ila and husband Ken Slavin of Ponca City, OK and his pride and joy Daisy Mae his Boxer of the home. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

E.J. was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother; Lee Jensen, 2 sisters: Elsa Roberts and Jean Dougherty, 2 nephews: Charles Lee Hudson and James Slavin, 1 niece Debbie Sanders.
