Don Earl Wallace

April 16, 1932 – May 10, 2017

Don Earl Wallace, son of the late W.E. and Mattie (Hulen) Wallace, died Wednesday May 10, 2017 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Don was born April 16, 1932 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

After graduating from Ardmore he joined the Navy. Don was in the navy from 1952-1956 on USS Menard. Medals he earned: Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal.

After the Navy, Don attended Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in drafting. He was hired by Conoco in September of 1958 in the engineering department as a Surveyor and Draftsman. Don retired from Conoco April 1993.

He married Mavis Irvin and they had one child Donna. Lived in Abilene, TX.

Later in life he married Patricia (Patty) Elmer. They loved to travel and had been on numerous trips all over the world.

He loved the game of golf and played as much as he could.

Don is survived by his daughter Donna Tull and her husband John, his stepson Jeff Elmer and his wife Juanita, his grandchildren Brett Tull, Brianna Tull, Braden Tull, Jason Elmer, and Lucas Elmer. Also surviving are his sisters Shirley Strawn, Gloria Motley and her husband Bob.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his 1st wife Mavis Irvin, 2nd wife Patricia (Patty) Elmer, a sister Dixie Wallace, and brothers Thomas Wallace and Billy Jack Wallace.

A graveside ceremony will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 13, 2017 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy. The Wallace family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2017 at Trout Funeral Home.
