Diana Lyn Riley

January 11, 1953 – June 2, 2017

Diana Lyn (Timmons) Riley, resident of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, passed away the evening of Friday, June 2nd, 2017 with her family by her side. She was 64 years of age.

The celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm, June 8, 2017 at the First Baptist Church – Tonkawa with Pastor “Coach” Terry Ballard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa.

Diana was born on January 11, 1953 to David W. and Virginia M. (Spiker) Timmons in Tulsa, OK. She was raised along with her three sisters in Claremore, OK. She married her high school sweetheart Michael L. Riley on February 9, 1971 at the First Baptist Church in Claremore, OK. A mother of two, a Grammy of five, a grammy-great of one, and a friend to so many.

Diana worked as an art teacher for Blackwell School District for 13 years. She encouraged students to take risk and have confidence even if they did not feel capable to do either. As the former Director of Arts Adventure, she grew the courage of many artist with her contagious passion for art. As a dorm parent at Northern Oklahoma College, she was the second mom for many and the only mom for those that needed one.

Diana was a talented artist that always put others before herself. Her kindness was radiant. She built her family with patience, kindness, silent strength, and chocolate chip cookies. Her greatest achievement in life was her family. She was known for spending hours baking, cooking, drawing and playing with her kids and grand kids. She was a gift sent to those that knew her and she will be missed greatly by those that knew her best.

She is survived by Husband, Michael Riley, Son, Shawn G. Riley and wife Dyan, Daughter, Traci L. (Riley) Dewey, Sisters: Sondra Stacy, Judy Brown, Linda Whitfield, mother-in-law, Jeri King, sister-in-law, Lisa Riley, grandchildren: Jeremy and Ashlyn (Fell) Cantrell, Lucas Fell, Mikenna Looney, Kagann Riley, McKellen Riley, Great-grandchild, August Cantrell, as well as, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her Grandparents Orville and Lena Spiker, John and Cordia Timmons, Father, David Timmons, Mother, Virginia (Spiker) Timmons, and Father-in-law, Howard Riley.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Michael Riley for an Art Adventure Scholarship for local students in memoriam of Diana Riley.
