Delbert “Jerry” Hambleton

(June 18, 1945 – January 23, 2017)

Jerry Hambleton, age 71, life-long resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial ceremony to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Osage Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Hutchins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Rusty Brown, Dennis Powell, Garland Helms, Rick Wright, Greg Wooters.

Jerry was born on June 18, 1945 to G. Keith Hambleton and Winifred Biby Hambleton in Ponca City, OK. Mildred Pemberton became his wife on June 18, 1991 in Purcell, OK. They made their home in the Ponca City area before buying some land out in the Osage to run livestock and enjoy the country life. Early in his working days, Jerry took up driving stock trucks, shuttling cattle around the country, working the family business his father had started. Later, he became a pipeline insulator for various refineries around the U.S. before his time as a press operator for Air Systems Components. After retiring, he enjoyed running cattle on his land and just sitting back with a beer in his hand to watch the traffic go by.

Survivors include his beloved wife Mildred of the home, sons Robbie Hambleton of Houston, TX, Dustin Hambleton of Wichita, KS, step-daughters, Pamela Melton of Ponca City, Kristi Woolley and companion Steve Trueblood of Ponca City, and Heather Powers and husband Jason of Rochester, IN, brother Gene Hambleton and wife Bonnie of Ponca City, sister-in-law Connie Hambleton of Ponca City, grandchildren Richard, Amber, Natasha, Cassie, Mike, Tregan, Tatum, Jessica, Kira, Samantha, and 12 great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Misty, step mother Earline, brother Keith Dwayne Hambleton, half brother Timmy, and half sister Vickie.
