September 27, 1980 – September 23, 2022

DeeDra Ann Coleman, 41, lifelong resident of Fort Oakland departed this world for her heavenly home on Friday September 23, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

DeeDra was born September 27, 1980 to Loretta Martin and Emmitt Coleman in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She grew up in the Fort Oakland Community and was always surrounded by a loving family, including her step-father Brian K. Ford, who she considered her Dad, and her MeMa, Ruthie Martin. Deedra was a proud member of the Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma, but also descended from the Apache and Pottawatomi Tribe’s as well.

DeeDra attended school within the Tonkawa School system and was a Buccaneer, graduating with the Class of 1999. She enjoyed frequenting the local casinos, hanging out in Oklahoma City, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was a meticulous organizer, loved to clean, listen to music, and talk about her pets. She always talked about her children and was proud to be their mother.

In later years DeeDra met Joshua Jones, who she considered the love of her life. They spent several happy years together before his passing.

Survivors of DeeDra include her Mother of the home, Loretta (Genie) Martin, her step-father, Brian K. Ford of Fort Oakland; three children LeeAnn Pettit, Kendall Pettit, and Malachi Jones; loving sisters, Keisha Sherron of Ponca City and Dezarae Ford of Fort Oakland. Four nephews; Martin Blueback IV, Isaac Blueback, Quincy Sherron, and Easton (Juju) Sherron; Uncles David Lee Martin, Michael Martin, Stephen Martin, and Scott (Tommy) Stout.

Greeting DeeDra in heaven were her beloved grandparents; Francis (Sonny) and Ruthie Martin, Uncle Francis Gene Martin Jr., Aunt Melissa Martin; five infant children, Kevin Lee Pettit Jr., Running Wolf Pettit, Martin Lee Pettit, Eugene Lee Pettit, and Arleacher Beaver Pettit; and her companion Joshua Jones.

An evening prayer service will begin in the evening on Tuesday September 27, 2022, which is also DeeDra’s birthday. The traditional funeral feast will be Wednesday September 28, 2022 beginning at noon followed by the service. All services will be held in the Tonkawa Tribal Gymnasium located in the Fort Oakland Community. Her brother-in-law Daniel Sherron will be in charge of services. Committal will follow in the Tonkawa Tribal Cemetery.

Casket Bearers are David Martin, Michael Martin, Stephen Martin, Ethan Martin, Martin Blueback, Dustin Epperson, and Dru Martin. Honorary casket bearers are Isaac Blueback, Easton Sherron, and Quincy Sherron.
