Dean Bay

Eldon Dean Bay of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday afternoon, November 19, 2016, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 71 years.

Eldon Dean Bay was born on December 27, 1944, in Blackwell to Carl Edward and Margaret Lee (Evans) Bay. He grew up in Kay County and attended Braman Public Schools before transferring to Blackwell Public Schools where he graduated with the class of 1963. Following his education he entered the Oklahoma National Guard and was later honorably discharged. He began his career in the furnace room at Blackwell Zinc Company. In the early 1970’s he began working as a welder for Atlas Tank and Tonkawa Tank. He later worked for Matrix and Ebert Enterprises before continuing as a welder at various power plants throughout the area. He retired from the boilermakers in the late 1990’s and returned to Blackwell and owned and operated Fat Cats Bar until his retirement in the early 2000’s. He married Therese Joyce Loveall on October 26, 2002, in Blackwell and she preceded him in death on August 10, 2014. He was a member of Bethesda Blackwell and the American Legion. He enjoyed boating and watching westerns and loved little children, especially those within his church.

He is survived by his sister, Vicki Ebert of Blackwell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23rd in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. Mike Ebert of Van Buren, Arkansas, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Braman Cemetery.
