Obituary for David Wallace

David L. Wallace "Dave", age 70, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away September 9, 2015 in Ponca City. He was 70.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, September 14, 2015 at the Trout Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Don Stanton officiating. Burial will then follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City, Oklahoma. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

David was born on November 1, 1944 to Bert Ray Wallace and Luella Gertrude Wallace in Ponca City. He was raised in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1962. Later that year, on November 27, 1962 he married Karen Ann Griffin in Winfield Kansas. Later he attended the Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA. Dave was affiliated with the Faith Tabernacle church in Ponca City. He also served the Oil Chemical Atomic Workers union as a member for 20 years, a steward, bargaining unit Chairman, Local President, 5th district Council Vice-President, Conoco Company Wide Council Vice-President and International Representative. He worked in Grocer Management at IGA for 15 years prior to working at Conoco. He was also co-owner of Alpha Terra Services landscaping company. He enjoyed camping and fishing when he wasn’t working.

Survivors include his children: Ronald Wallace and wife Tammi of Ponca City, OK; Kathleen Redd and husband Dan of Winchester, IN; siblings: Don Wallace and wife Wanda of Ponca City, Roberta Schofield of LaVerne, CA, Aileen Harden of Barstow, CA; sisters-in-law: Sharon Cornforth of Enid, OK, Linda McGee of Enid, OK; brothers-in-law: Ronnie Griffith of Ft. Worth, TX, Rick Griffith of Enid, OK, seven grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and sons, David L. Wallace, Jr.and Kelly Ray Wallace, brothers, Robert Wallace, John W. Wallace and sister, Pearl Nottingham.
