Cleo Clicy Greenhaw passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was 85 years old. Cleo was born on April 1, 1933 in Arkansas City Kansas to Cleo Clicy Greenhaw, Sr. and Dorothy (Wilcox) Greenhaw. He was raised in Ark City and received his high school diploma from Bisbee High School in Bisbee, Arizona. He joined the United States Air Force in 1950, serving in the Korean War. Cleo was later stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California and then the Smokey Hill Air Base in Salina, Kansas.

Cleo married Betty Lou Hardiman on August 2,1953 at the Central Christian Church in Ark City. He completed his tour of duty in Salina, Kansas and received an honorable discharge from the Air Force in September of 1954. After his discharge, he joined the U.S. Air Force National Guard. He graduated from Arkansas City Jr. College (Cowley County) and then graduated from United Electronics Laboratories in Louisville, Kentucky. He was employed with I.B.M. Corporation in Wichita, Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Ponca City. After 25 years with I.B.M., Cleo opened his own business, Professional Computer Systems, in Ponca City.

He loved all animals and rescued many dogs and cats over the years. He was a faithful member of the Eastern Heights Christian Church.

He taught sailing at Northern Oklahoma College and was commodore of the Indian Nations Sailing Club during the years of 1986, 1990 and 1997. Cleo was a pilot and built along with his brother-in-law, Max Hardiman, a P-51 Mustang. He was an Exalted Ruler of the Elk’s Lodge during the years of 1989-1990 and 1999-2000.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Greenhaw and Cleo Greenhaw Sr. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou, daughter, Cheryl Lynn Baker, son-in-law, Curtis Baker, two grandchildren, Matt Overman and Nicole Wedman and husband, Richard great-grandson, Brooks Wedman, sister, Judy Allen, two nephews, Ted and Andy Allen, brother-in-law, Max Hardiman, two step-grandchildren, Brandon And Brittany, and three step-great-grandchildren, Ava, Byrnn and Caxton. He is also survived by his beloved pets, Levi the cat and his dogs, Chester and Peggy Sue that rode with him each day in his pickup.

A funeral ceremony for Cleo will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Berry officiating. Following the funeral, he will be laid to rest at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ark City at 2:00 pm. A family visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, January 9th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Trout Funeral Home.
