Charles Myers, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Charles “Charlie” Arthur Myers was born on May 23, 1952 to William “Bill” and Leona Myers of Ranch Drive near Ponca City, Oklahoma. Charlie was the oldest of five brothers. He attended Mckliney Grade School and West Junior High, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1970. It was during this time that he developed his musical skills. One of his fondest memories was playing the Cornet with his high school band at the first inauguration of President Nixon in January of 1969. Upon graduation, he began his career working in construction for his grandfather, J.A. Fowler. He married Jan Leatherman and they raised 2 sons together for several years. He went on to work as an officer for the Newkirk Police Department before returning to construction as a crane operator. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his brothers and grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a hand on his son’s ranch in Red Rock and he enjoyed several trips to Arizona to spend time with his family.

Charlie is survived by his 2 sons Rep. David L. Cook and wife Diana of Globe, AZ, and Mark W. Cook of Kildare, OK; 5 grandchildren; David L. Cook, Jr. and Maria Cook of Globe, AZ, Blake Cook of Ponca City, Angela Cook of Stillwater, Justin Cook of Ponca City. 3 brothers; Larry (Wanda) Myers of Mooreland, Wayne (Tammy) Myers and John (Lisa) Myers of Ponca City along with several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death Grandparents, Father, Mother, & infant Brother William “Billie” James Myers.

Viewing will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, September 3, 2021, at Trout Funeral Home. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Face masks are required.
