Bill Eden, longtime resident of Shidler, passed away January 14, 2021, at 92 years old. He was born November 5, 1928, on Jingle Mountain, outside Keota, Oklahoma. He graduated from Beggs High School and was an excellent athlete. He played basketball & football and was offered a couple of scholarships for football. He went to work for Phillips Petroleum out of high school and retired from Phillips at age 57, after 40 years of service. He was a Master Masonic. He was an avid hunter, hunting prairie chickens, pheasant, and quail with his bird dogs. Quail hunting was his favorite and sometimes hitting two birds with one shot!

One of his favorite memories he liked to talk about was helping John Payne work on his trailer, to help him develop getting his rodeo act on the road with his favorite horse, Cloud. He loved the time he went with John, dogs, and cowboys to the national forest west of Colorado Springs to round up wild steers running loose in the forest. His voice was so recognizable as his doctor said, and his laugh was so contagious. He will be missed by so many and thankful for all of his friends who helped take care of him.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ola Coy Eden Boucher, father Willard (Jack) Eden, brother Ben Eden, infant sons Clifford Lee & Gary Lynn Eden, and ex-wife Wilma Eden.

He is survived by son Billy Eden, daughter Jenny Eden McCormick (Gary), grandsons Cody McCormick (Jennifer), Kelly McCormick (Ashlee), great-grandson Aiden McCormick, great-granddaughter Leila, sister-in-law Phyllis Eden, nephew Ron Eden (Dolores), and cousin Patsy Wood.
