Aline Beverly McKinnis of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday afternoon, December 5, 2017, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 91 years.

Aline Beverly McKinnis was born on February 25, 1926, in Canton, Kansas, to Harve B. and Laura Fern (Oard) Cathey. As a young girl she moved with her family to Kay County where she attended Dilworth School before attending Blackwell High School graduating in 1944. Following her education she began working as a bookkeeper at the Blackwell Zinc Company. She married Robert Thomas McKinnis on September 15, 1947, in Caldwell, Kansas, and they settled in Canyon City, Colorado, where they operated an apple orchard. In 1950 they moved to Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and in 1951 made their home in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. In later years, she worked at Tastee-Freeze in Blackwell. Following her husband’s retirement, the spent the winter months in South Texas where they enjoyed fishing. Her husband preceded her in death on May 26, 2001, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and playing various card and board games.

She is survived by her son, Wade McKinnis of Bethany, Oklahoma; two sisters, Glenda Rickards of Blackwell and Jean Bergman and husband Morgan of Blackwell; a grandson, Cory McKinnis and wife Rhonda of Oklahoma City; and a great grandson, Cory Bryce McKinnis of Oklahoma City.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Wayne and Dean Cathey.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 9th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Koch officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Brett Bergman, Lance Bergman, Skye Bergman, Justin Ebert, Joe Ebert and Louis Oard.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the First Christian Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
