Betty Frances Wyatt, 91, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on June 14, 2023. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Woodlands Christian Church with Rev. Truman Ferguson officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, KS. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Betty was born on August 13, 1931, in Bache, OK, to Roy C. and Velva Genevieve (Goodson) Griffith. She attended Hartshorne High School, graduating in 1949. She attended business college and worked in accounting for Conoco until her retirement in 1985. She married Clifton Tony Wyatt on August 22, 1954, in McAlester, OK.

Betty loved to travel, especially on family vacations to Disney World and National Parks. She loved to golf and was a member of the Ponca City Country Club. She served as treasurer of the Ladies Association and was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi, Eta Delta Chapter. Betty loved working the Friendship Feast at First Christian Church and was a member of Woodlands Christian Church.

Betty is survived by: daughter, Cheryl Simmons and her husband, Kevin; son, Clifton Tony Wyatt and his wife, Belinda; grandsons, Charles Cottrell and his wife, Michelle, Clifton Cottrell and his wife, Nicole and their children, Annabelle and Charlotte, Scott Cottrell and his wife, Tara and their children, Cole and Clara, Brad Simmons and his son, Sylas, and David Simmons; brothers, Wayne Griffith and his wife, Carolyn, Bud Griffith and his wife, Judy; sister-in-law, Priscilla Rives and her husband Bob; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Feast, First Christian Church, 210 N. 5th Street, Ponca City, OK, 74601. In honor of Betty’s love for the color, please wear red to the services.
