Obituary for Betty Oldham

Betty Moffitt Oldham, resident of Ponca City, passed April 4, 2015 at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 91 years of age.

Betty was born March 27, 1924 in Bear Creek, North Carolina, the daughter of Braudy Fletcher Moffitt and Alma (Loyd) Moffitt. She received her early education in the Bonlee, North Carolina schools. She was married to Ralph Vernon Oldham on January 27, 1946 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

She had been employed in earlier years as a payroll clerk for CIT and Ford Motor Company. She was a member of the Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Her enjoyments throughout her years included playing cards, fishing and water sports on Lake Eufaula where the couple owned property.

She is survived by her two children, Debbie Parr and husband Bill, of Ponca City and Ralph Vernon Oldham Jr. and wife Lisa, of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother, Braudy Fletcher Moffitt Jr., of Greensboro, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Michael Oldham, Jack Oldham, Philip Parr and wife Alison and Greg Parr; two great grandchildren, Aaron Parr and wife Heather and Garret Parr; one great great grandchild, Isaac Parr; numerous other extended family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph; one sister, Audrey Benson; one brother, Freeman Moffitt and one half sister, Myrna Moffitt.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Grace Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Larry Nigh presiding. A private family committal service will follow in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
