Audrey went to school in Plainview, TX, and became an Oklahoma state court reporter. She worked at the Newkirk Courthouse for 19 years and was the 2nd to be certified at 200 words per minute. Audrey married John Chris Rogers an April 6, 1940. He purchased the 320 acre Rogers’ Rock Ridge (7601 E. Brake Rd.). They won a contest! Five farmers from Blackwell, who were masters of their craft, came and built them a custom home. She lived on the farm for 50 years. Audrey thoroughly enjoyed the farm, the new home, and the cattle. She only rarely missed being at services at the First Baptist Church in Ponca City, or at her Friday hair appointment.

Everyone called her Grandma! Audrey had many dear friends, too many to mention. She loved everyone deeply and she kept in contact with everyone she could throughout the years. Some of her favorite states to visit were Hawaii, Florida, California, and Alaska. She also enjoyed traveling to the Virgin Islands and Mexico. Audrey loved to make cakes and other foods for church. She loved watching the sunrise over the land and kept beautiful gardens that held both flowers. She never missed Wheel of Fortune and loved all kinds of games, especially the board game Pollyanna!

Audrey enjoyed life. She made friends everywhere she went. She believed in the Lord and she believed in humanity. She taught kindness, respect, and love in everything she did.
