Anna Lee Chesnut Price Salisbury passed away peacefully in her sleep on her birthday, December 16, 2017, at the age of 87 years.

Anna was born on December 16, 1930 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Rilla (Reese) Chesnut and Orville Chesnut. She was one of five siblings; Earl Chesnut of Conroe, Texas; Laura Kirby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Harold Chesnut of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and Martha Chesnut of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ann graduated Drumright High School in 1948. She played basketball and skipped her senior prom to go a jitterbug contest . . .and won. She loved to dance. After high school she got a job at Southwestern Bell where she developed a lifelong desire to talk on the telephone. Anna had a long work history holding many clerical positions including Mike Price Ford of Tonkawa and Blackwell, Oklahoma. Anna was a founding member of the American Begonia Society and a member of the Tonkawa Bowling League.
Anna married Mitchell Price II of Terlton, Oklahoma in 1953. Together they had two sons: Mitchell Price III of Terlton, Oklahoma and Michael Price of Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Later in life she married Clifford “Gene” Salisbury, the father of Thomas Salisbury of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jim Salisbury and Sandy Linton, both of Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

Anna Lee was known to her grandkids as Granny Annie. She loved and cared for grandkids with all her heart. She loved to entertain, having dinners and frying chicken for her family often. Ann was very involved with her sons, grandkids and great-grandkids sporting events. She enjoyed watching sports and listening to Tonkawa Bucaneer football on the radio. She was also very up to date with politics. She loved going to the casino and even snuck away with her sisters to Las Vegas a few times.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Rilla and Orville; two brothers, Earl and Harold; a sister, Martha; one son, Mitchell; Mitchell Price II; and husband Gene.

She is survived by her son Michael Price; sister, Laura; daughter in law, Debbie Price of Terlton, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Brandy Price of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Mitchell Price III of Kountze, Texas; Randi Rae Price of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; Jerika Hobza of Conway Springs, Kansas; Lacie Haney of Terlton, Oklahoma; Anna Ashcraft of Drumright, Oklahoma; Ben Price of Blackwell, Oklahoma and Callie Price of Tonkawa, Oklahoma and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services for Anna will be Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00p.m. in the Heritage Room of 1st National Bank in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa. Online condolences may be made at www.trouttonkawa.com.
