Obituary for Anna Butler

Anna Mae Hall Butler, former Ponca City resident, passed Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital. She was 74 years of age.

Anna was born June 14, 1940 in Ponca City, the daughter of Charles Lew Hall and Erie Mable (Fortune) Hall. She was a 1959 graduate of Ponca City High School. Anna served her country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on May 17, 1961. Anna married Melvin Ray Butler on November 16, 2007 in Newkirk. She had been employed as a nurse’s aide in earlier years.

She enjoyed crocheting, oil painting, ceramics and working with the “Mission”. She also played several musical instruments by ear that included the piano, organ and accordion.

She is survived by one daughter, Crystal Feezor of Newkirk; two sons, Steven Rhodd of California and David Rhodd of Enid; one brother, Dale L. Hall and one sister, Henryetta Wilcoxson; six grandchildren and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Mace Payne.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Grace Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Kaw City.
