Ann M. Strickland, age 80, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Sunday, April, 22, 2018.

Ann was born on February 16, 1938 in Savannah, GA to James and Grace McGaughey.

After graduating from Savannah High School in 1956, she started her first job at Union Camp Corporation. She met the love of her life, John, on St. Patrick’s day in 1958 and they were married on May 18, 1959 until his death in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, and her parents James and Grace.

She is survived by her daughters, Lee Maniatis and husband Dean Maniatis and Laurie Henderson and husband Jimmy, her son, John and wife Denise, her grandchildren, Matt and his wife Tess, James, Kincey, Luke, Madison, Bridger and her great-grandson Henry, sister, Sue Stallcup and her husband Gary, of Pooler, GA, niece, Amy Stallcup and nephew, Scott Stallcup and his wife Abbie and their children Leighton, Remi and Stone. She was also loved by many cousins and family members.

Those who knew Ann know what a true Southern Lady she was. She loved to volunteer at the Ponca City Opportunity Center or any place that needed help. She was a member of DAR, PEO, the Red Rose Garden Club, and the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class at First Methodist Church. While working with the funeral and wedding committee she found special enjoyment preparing the flower arrangements.

Playing tennis, bridge, golf and yard work were some of her pastimes, but spending time on the beach was her biggest joy.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 10 am Thursday, April 26, 2018 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Ponca City Opportunity Center, 2225 N Union St, Ponca City, OK.
