Marva Ann (Wilbur) Garwood of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Amarillo at the age of 93 years.

Marva Garwood was born March 21, 1932, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ralph and Ruth (Campbell) Wilbur. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School before attending Oklahoma State University. She married William R. Garwood on November 24, 1950, in Blackwell. Marva was a homemaker, supporting her husband and children in all their pursuits through her participation, counsel, and love. Marva and Bill were founding members of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ponca City where they lived and raised their family. Marva lived her Christian faith and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Marva was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years William (Bill); her parents, Ralph and Ruth Wilbur, and an infant great grandson. Marva is survived by her daughter, Susan Elaine (Garwood) Barros (Mike) of Jacksonville, Florida; her son, David Wade Garwood (Cheryl) of Rogers, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Cameron Barros of Helena, Montana, Grant Garwood (Kirstie) of Joplin, Missouri, Jana Barros-Loyd (Rodney) of Jacksonville, Florida, Anthony Barros II of Helena, Montana, and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service has been set for 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 28th, at the Blackwell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, c/o Roberts & Son Funeral Home.
