Linda was born on July 24, 1944, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Earnest and Lucille Puckett. She grew up in Drummond, Oklahoma, where she attended school and graduated high school, forming lifelong friendships and cherished memories. In 1965, she married her high school sweetheart, Ernest Jantz. Together they have traveled the world and built a strong and loving family.
In 1974 they made their home in Ponca City, where she went to work at Ponca City Savings and Loan as a data processor. She continued working there through its many name changes, including Frontier Federal Savings and Loan Association, and Heartland Federal, working her way up to assistant vice president. After her retirement, she found a new career as an office manager in the office of Dr. Randy Webber, DDS, which she really enjoyed as it funded her grandbaby habits.
Linda was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Ponca City, where she has been a member since the late 1970’s. Linda served on many committees throughout the years. Church was always a very important part of her life. She found strength, community, and purpose through her church family and friends. Linda was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Brenda and Kellie. She took great joy in watching her family grow and was especially proud of her grandchildren. Being a grandmother brought her tremendous joy and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Jantz; her daughters, Brenda Kirchenbauer and Kellie Ghormley (Mike); her grandchildren, Joey Kirchenbauer (Anessa), Josh Kirchenbauer, Katie Kirchenbauer, Sarah Ghormley, and Zachary Ghormley; her great-granddaughter, Riley; and her sister, Judy DeFelice, along with extended family and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Lucille Puckett, and her brother, Mike Puckett. Linda will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family, church family, and friends.
