Margaret Joan “Joan” Burrow Dick, born October 3, 1931, in Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on January 11, 2026, at her home in Bedford, Texas. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 27 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Joan was the daughter of Walter H. McMillin of Sedalia, Missouri, and Blanche Charlotte Smith of Parkersburg, West Virginia, both deceased. She graduated from Macon High School in 1949, and from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1952. Although she obtained nursing licensure in Missouri and Oklahoma, she chose to devote her time to raising her family. Her nursing skills continued to serve others through volunteer work and through her support in her husband’s dental practice.

In August 1952, Joan married Dr. John W. Burrow, a dentist in Ponca City, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage until his passing in November 1990. She later married Warren W. Dick in November 1992, and they spent 25 years together until his death in May 2018.

Joan was a dedicated member and volunteer at Grace Episcopal Church, where she gave generously of her time and talents. She was also an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter EL, during her years in Ponca City. A lifelong supporter of the Girl Scouts, Joan served as a troop leader and mentor, sharing her enthusiasm and guidance with generations of young women.

Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Luschen of Overland Park, Kansas. She is survived by her sister, Judy Bland of Conroe, Texas; her children, Jeffrey Burrow of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jackie Burrow Coburn of Irving, Texas; and three grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family from the Dick side, including Valerie Hall of Kansas City, Missouri, along with two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Grace Episcopal Church, the Reredos Memorial, 109 N 13th St, Ponca City, OK, 74601, or P.E.O. State PRO Project Fund, Inc. % Donna Hagen, AW 1821 Moonlight Drive, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
