Jerry Sorrels
April 22, 1944 — August 30, 2025
Jerry Sorrels, 81, beloved Father, Grandfather, and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on August 29, 2025. He entered this world on April 22, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, born to Cecil and Laura June White Sorrels.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, September 5, 2025, in the Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee, OK with Visitation held from 3p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.
Jerry was owner and operator of the Cheyenne Oil company for over 40 years. He was self-taught the oil and gas industry when there wasn’t any formal training or schooling for the industry in the early days. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family taking trips to Lake Eufaula on the boat, playing golf, hunting and restoring classic cars and specially mustangs.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children; Kelly Gorman of Houston, TX, Jerry Sorrels of Ponca City, OK and Kathryn Molinaro-Smith and husband Dary Smith of Blackwell, OK, Grandchildren; Ragen Gorman and Steven Gorman both of League City, TX, Khloe Sorrels and Cooper Sorrels both of Ponca City, OK and Nichole Molinaro, Michael Molinaro and Mark Molinaro all of South Plainfield, New Jersey. Great grandchildren are Brielle, Brooke, Anthony, Maddix, Elijah, Mateo, and Asher. Also surviving are his brother, Darrell Sorrels and wife Lynn of Oklahoma City, OK, two sisters; Glenda Rightmire and husband Dan of Van Buren, AR Pamela Fowler and husband Johnny of Nacoma Park, OK his former wife, Betty Sorrel Costen of Ponca City, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
