Helen Sue Cassity, a lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 76 in Oklahoma City, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Sunset Baptist Church in Ponca City, OK. A public viewing will be at Trout Funeral Home on Sunday May 18, 2025, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm with the family present from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Born on October 29, 1948 In Ponca City to Coy Vernon and Wylidene Virginia (Treat) Brewer. She was the youngest of three sisters, growing up with older sisters Sharon Kay and Judie.
Helen was a 1966 graduate of Ponca City High School and went on to graduate from the Draughn School of Business in Tulsa, OK. After graduating from business school, she married Bradley Maurice Cassity on October 25, 1968, in Ponca City. They had two daughters together, Sonja Lynn and Tonja Lynn. Helen worked as a Human Resources Manager, most recently for Bridgeway Incorporated of Ponca City. Previously, she worked for the Ponca City Police Department. In addition to her work, she and her husband were both longtime umpires and supporters of Kids Incorporated baseball and softball. Helping people was her passion, and working with young people in that environment fulfilled that passion. In her later years, she was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren, Adison, Grace, and McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Catherine Cassity, and father-in-law Edmond Cassity, as well as brother-in-law Howard Blauvelt. Survivors include husband Bradley of the home, daughters Sonja Jones of Pittsburg, KS, and Tonja Ripple (Jacob) of Dodge City, KS. Grandchildren Adison Spray (Clayton) of Sheboygan, WI, Grace Jones, and McCoy Jones of Pittsburg, KS. Brother-in-law Glenn Cassity (Linda) and sister-in law Mary Blauvelt. Sisters Sharon Kay Carter (Bob) and Judie Henderson (Bob), as well as many nieces and nephews.
