
Dalann Covington
April 24, 1949 - October 8, 2025
Harriet Dalann (Phenis) Covington, 76, of Perry, passed away October 8, 2025 at Stillwater Medical Center, in Stillwater.
Dalann was born on April 24, 1949 in Edmond to Harry Dale and Mary Jo (Trumbla) Phenis. She grew up in The Village and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1967. Once she graduated, she married Donald Parker on June 9, 1967. They lived in The Village and had Maria and Donna. After that Dalann moved to Perry were her Aunt June Burger lived, her dad’s sister. Through her and some of June’s friends, Dalann meet and married Bill Box, Jr. They married on April 16, 1973 and to this union they had a son, Brandon. Bill also adopted both the girls. Dalann later married Donald Covington, Jr. on September 24, 1988 until his death in May of 2025.
Dalann worked in retail for K-Mart in Enid and in Nebraska before moving to Walmart. Between the two retail stores she gave them over 30 years of service.
She had a love for many things. To just name a few, she loved pepperoni pizza, doing volunteer work at the hospital, Red Cross blood drives, bowling, and being with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She had an amazing voice and loved to sing in the Presbyterian Church Choir next to Mary Malzahn.
Survivors include her daughters Maria and husband Bryan Mack of Perry, Donna and husband Jim Marteney of Beatrice, NE, son Brandon and wife Rachel Box of Pawnee. Brother Bob “Lonnie” and wife Linda Phenis of Beatrice, NE. Step-son Donald Covington, III of Lincoln, NE. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her parents, brother David Phenis, sister Joy Smith, and great grandson Azekeual Barnhart-Crowley.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 10am at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Friend officiating. Dalann will be laid to rest at Grace Hill Cemetery at a later date.
