Gordon Cargill
November 15, 1932 - December 10, 2025
Gordon Darrell Cargill, age 93, of Perry, passed away December 10, 2025, at Stillwater Medical Center in Perry.
Gordon was born on November 15, 1932, in Cushing to Gordon O. and Nora (Murrell) Cargill. He attended Oak Grove Elementary and graduated from Cushing High School. Following graduation, he took a few college courses at Oklahoma State University.
Gordon married Tommie Lee Roberts on May 23, 1952, in Cushing and were married 73 years. Gordon worked as a lumberman for Donaldson & Yahn Lumber for 34 years and for Long Bell Lumber for 5 years.
Gordon served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1954. In 2014, Gordon went on an Honor Flight to the Nation’s Capitol. Gordon was active in the First Christian Church of Perry serving as Elder, Treasurer, Property Committee, among other duties. He spent much time with both sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports and dominoes. He loved going fishing and traveling with friends and mostly spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Tommie. Two sons, Paul W. Cargill and Tim J. (Genelle) Cargill. Grandchildren, Matthew Cargill, Lyna (Joey) Easley, Molly (Matthew) Dillman, Valerie Cargill, and John (Kristi) Harrington and family. Great-grandchildren, James Cargill, Luke Cargill, Thomas Cargill, Rachel Cargill, Jackson Easley, Jason Easley, Julia Dillman. One sister, Coretta Sumpter. Carol Cargill.
Preceding him in death were his parents. Brothers and sisters, Earl M. Cargill, Juanita Eberlin, Charles Cargill, Betty Bowman, and Wanda Santos.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Joshua Bell officiating.
