Gaylord Dennis Adams, Sr., age 84, of Morrison, Oklahoma. Dennis was born May 13, 1941, in Meno, Oklahoma, to Eugene and Francis Scott Adams. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Dennis lived a full and vibrant life-one defined by love for family, dedication to hard work, service to his country, and a wonderful sense of humor. He cherished time spent with his family and friends, tending to his love for gardening, traveling, and caring for his beloved dog, Ella Mae. Known for his explosive personality, quick wit, and deep patriotism, Dennis left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
In April 1959, Dennis enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving in Germany, Okinawa, Southeast Asia, and numerous assignments across the United States. Over his distinguished career, he earned many honorary ribbons and medals, retiring as a Sergeant First Class in May 2001.
After his military service, Dennis continued a life of dedication and hard work through a 42-year career as a truck driver, a profession he deeply enjoyed. His pride in the open road, commitment to excellence, and strong work ethic reflected the same devotion he gave his family and country.
Dennis is survived by his wife Ruth D. Adams, children Kevin Eugene Adams (Pam), Gaylord Dennis Adams II (Jennifer), Michael Adams, and Jan Redifer (Ralph); sixteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Adams; his parents, Eugene and Francis Scott Adams; his siblings Leonard Adams, Donal Adams, Gilmer Adams, Evelyn Chenault, Emma Jean Gustus, Mary Taylor; and one grandchild, Timothy Allen Adams.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 1208 N. College Drive, Winfield, Kansas.

Dennis Adams, Sr. will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, love of life, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and country. His laughter and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
