Connie Sue Finley of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on October 21, 2025, in Edmond at the age of 81 years.
Connie Sue Finley was born on July 21, 1944, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Eugene Burns and Hazel (Stanley) Corneil. She grew up in Blackwell, attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduating in 1962. She then furthered her education at Northern Oklahoma College, in Tonkawa.
On November 29, 1963, she married Gary Dean Finley, and they made their home in Edmond, where she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an accounting assistant. She also served her family as a homemaker. She later worked for American Greeting as a Card Representative. She then began working as a Special Education Assistant, retiring in 2008.
She was the primary Caregiver for her mother until her passing in 2017. She loved being outdoors, gardening, birds, collecting rocks, going to the lake, water skiing, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell, and attended the First Christian Church in Edmond. She was an avid OU fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Glenda Urban.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Dean Finley of Edmond; three children: Tracie McCall and husband Glen of Edmond, Tisha Wertzberger and husband Chris of Edmond, and Ryan Finley of Jones, Oklahoma; one sister, Joanie Corneil of Tampa, Florida; one brother, David Corneil and wife Stacy of Blackwell; and five grandchildren: Kelsea Wertzberger, Rylea Wertzberger Dunlap, Ian McCall, Finnegan McCall, and Owen McCall.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her honor with the American Alzheimer's Association ℅ Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
Services have been scheduled for 2PM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church in Blackwell, with Rev. Mike Devorak officiating.
Burial to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, in Nardin, Oklahoma.
