Clendon Thomas Warrior affectionately known as "Sim", passed away peacefully at home in Ponca City, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family on October 15, 2025. Born on October 10, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, Clendon lived a life that embodied kindness, creativity, and an indomitable spirit.
Clendon's varied and illustrious career reflected his diverse interests and talents. He bravely served in the U.S. Army as a missile control operator from 1979 to 1981, a role that showcased his dedication and strength. After his military service, Clendon fulfilled his passion for helping others as a police officer for the city of Lamont, as well as serving the Ponca, Kaw, and Tonkawa Tribes. For five years, he took on the rewarding role of house parent at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Texas, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of many children.
In addition to his law enforcement and caregiving roles, Clendon was a talented professional boxer who had the honor of fighting in the ring against the legendary George Foreman. He also trained alongside Foreman, a testament to his commitment to excellence and hard work. While his athletic prowess was commendable, it was his vibrant personality that truly endeared him to those around him. Clendon was known for being energetic, filled with life and light, and possessing a sharp intelligence.
His adventurous spirit extended beyond the boxing ring, as he participated in the grueling seven-day Freewheel bicycle ride from Texas to Kansas every year for nine consecutive years, embodying his love for challenge and camaraderie.
Clendon's creative side shined brightly in Hollywood, where he worked as a security officer and even made a cameo appearance in Season 1 of "The Flash," showcasing his multifaceted talents.
He leaves behind a devoted family, including his beloved wife, Diana Heusel Warrior, who cherished every moment spent together. His son, Grayson Warrior, and daughter, Ariel Warrior, along with her husband, Uly Sambrano, will forever hold dear the memories they created as a family. Clendon was also a proud grandfather to Zia Sambrano, who brought him immense joy. He is survived by his mother, Estelline Warrior, brother LeRoy Warrior, Jr., nephew Albern Warrior and niece Beda Warrior and their families, including niece Ashley Shaw and her husband and children Jayden and Cami, and great-niece Alerion Warrior.
Clendon was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Jess Warrior, and brothers Alvin and Andy Warrior. His legacy of kindness, strength, and creativity will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As we remember Clendon Thomas Warrior, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, one that touched many and will be deeply missed.
