Bud Grim
February 11, 1943 - September 15, 2025
Cecil A. “Bud” Grim, 82, of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away on September 15, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Bud was born on February 11, 1943, in Glenrose, Oklahoma. He proudly served six years in the Oklahoma National Guard, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following his service, Bud began his career with Ditch Witch in Perry and later became an independent Ditch Witch dealer, operating locations in Springfield, Illinois; Phoenix, Arizona; and Fresno, California. His strong work ethic, vision, and leadership left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.
Known for his sharp wit and larger-than-life personality, Bud never met a stranger. He was quick with a story, loved a good practical joke, and brought laughter to all who knew him.
Though his career took him to many places, Bud eventually moved back to Perry to be close to his family and to watch his grandchildren grow. He took great pride in following their activities, from band and theatre to athletics, and cherished every moment spent supporting them. Bud was also deeply grateful for his friends, especially the group he fondly called the “Front Porch Group,” who kept his spirits high with daily visits and, even as his illness progressed, made house calls that meant the world to him.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Gladys Grim; his siblings Ann (Lee) Dowler, Betty (George) Heinbach, Sonny (Onie) Grim, Earline (Joe) Greer, Vera (Rocky) Roberts, Emma Lou (Marvin) Hasenfratz, Ladonna Hodge, and Rosa Lee Grim; and his beloved dog, Beau.
He is survived by his life partner, Sheryl Mandeville. Sheryl was more than a life partner to Bud-she was his best friend. Together, they shared a love of traveling, DIY projects, and enjoying life to the fullest. Their bond brought joy and companionship that enriched every day they spent together.
Bud is also survived by his son, Brian Grim, and wife, Karee; his daughter, Tami Redus, and husband, Kenny; his grandchildren, Makenzi (Jansen) Hartwig, Emily Grim, Hadyn Redus, and Jake Grim; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Family visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home in Perry. Funeral services will follow on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Trout Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N 7th St, Perry, OK 73077.
Bud’s warmth, humor, and devotion to family, friends, and the simple joys of life will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
