Carolyn Alizabeth Moore

Carolyn Alizabeth Moore went to be with her Lord, on February 1st, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.

Carolyn was born on January 1st, 1941, to Charles David and Mabel Elizabeth Neff. She attended Blackwell schools, where she was active in several organizations and was a member of the Oklahoma and National Honor Societies. She was also a co-Salutatorian and a runner-up for Miss BHS. In 1959 Carolyn graduated from Blackwell High School, and two days later on May 31st, 1959, she and Max Moore were married at the First Christian Church in Blackwell. Max and Carolyn lived in Stillwater and attended OSU before moving to the family farm in Braman, OK. On April 4th, 1963, their daughter Cindy Alizabeth was born. In 1966 Carolyn returned to school at NWOSU in Alva, OK and completed her teaching degree. Carolyn then taught in Braman from 1967-1972 before the family moved to Pond Creek, in 1973. While teaching at Pond Creek-Hunter, Carolyn was named Teacher of the Year and even appeared in the pages of Sports Illustrated as the “little voice on the prairie”. It was there that she spent the last twenty years of her teaching career, retiring in 1993. After retirement, Max and Carolyn moved back to Blackwell to care for her parents before moving to Enid in 2007.

Carolyn was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Enid where she served on the Evangelism and Mission Committees. She also sang in the choir, taught Sunday school classes, and presented lessons to the Presbyterian Women’s Group. This group honored her with the Presbyterian Woman of the Year award.

Carolyn was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association as well as the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. Her love of teaching came through daily as she worked to instill not only a love for reading but also life lessons in her students, who she truly felt were “her kids”. That belief continued throughout her lifetime.

Carolyn is survived by Max, her husband of 66 years, daughter Cindy (Deb), her brother Charles Neff (Sherry), 3 nephews, 2 nieces, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Carolyn’s name may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

A private family graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in the Blackwell Cemetery.
