Carla Alice Sanders, born on December 28, 1959, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Carla was a woman of style and grace, always dressed to impress, which matched her vibrant personality. She was known for her remarkable cooking skills and created culinary delights that brought joy to her family and friends. Carla found great joy in working in her garden, and when her gardening days came to an end, she turned her talents to designing floral arrangements with artificial flowers, showcasing her creativity and love for beauty. Her treasured collection of fine crystal exemplified her appreciation for the finer things in life, and she took immense pride in adding to it over the years.

Carla had a unique gift for connecting with people; she could strike up a conversation with anyone and was cherished for her interesting and entertaining stories. Her humor frequently lightweighted the atmosphere, often leaving those around her in fits of laughter, even when she herself might have been the source of the joke.

Her family was the center of her world. Carla's proudest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. She cherished each one of them and had a playful habit of secretly telling her nieces and nephews that they were her favorite, making each of them feel uniquely loved.

Carla is survived by her devoted son Todd and daughter-in-law Theresa Warrior; daughters Kristy and son-in-law Bruce Johnson, and Vanessa Dent; and son Clayton Roughface, her brothers Otis Warrior Sr of Red Rock, Preston Warrior of Ponca City, and baby sister Susan Warrior Fisher of Arkansas City, Kansas. Grandchildren Kyla, Jana, Kirklyn, Joanna, Fritz, Kristopher, Andrew, Jay, Steven, Carly, Chloe, and Audrina “AJ,” as well as great-grandchildren Adelina, Athena, Annahlee, and Aaliyah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Alma Warrior; her grandson Janssen Todd Warrior II; and her siblings, brothers Lelus Spottedcrow, Thomas Spottedcrow, Troy Warrior, and sister Leda Spottedcrow-Green, along with her companion, G.E. Cornell.

Carla's memory will be honored with services scheduled at the Ponca Indian Cultural Center in White Eagle, Oklahoma, on February 27, 2026. The traditional feast and giveaway will start at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm and interment at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Carla Alice Sanders was a remarkable woman whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of many. She will be remembered with love and affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
