Samples of the many items that can be created in Audrey Schmitz’ Glass Fusion class at Northern Oklahoma College.

Creating beautiful pendants, ornaments, sun catchers and much more is the focus of Glass Fusing, a community enrichment class offered by Audrey Schmitz at Northern Oklahoma College starting Oct. 26.

Glass Fusing will meet in Creative Arts Building 110 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on the following Thursdays:  Oct. 26, Nov. 2, Nov. 9 and Nov. 16.

The class fee is $25, which does not include the cost of the glass.  Students will pay at the first class session.

“The price of the materials will vary with the project,” Schmitz said.  “A small ornament will require less glass than a large tile. All materials will be available for purchase on site.”

This introductory class on the art of fused glass is limited to 10 students. Because of the special nature of the class, pre-registration is required and walk-ins cannot be accommodated. Registration is underway and remains open until the class is full.

NOC community enrichment classes are non-credit courses and have no grades, tests or attendance requirements. To register for Glass Fusing, visit the NOC Registrar’s Office in the Vineyard Library-Administration Building to fill out an enrollment form. For more information about the class, contact Schmitz at (580) 628-6670 or email [email protected].
