Northern Oklahoma College will hold a hitting camp for youngsters ages 6 years and older May 26-29, according to Shawn Neale, NOC Mavericks assistant baseball coach and camp director.

Neale stressed that the day camp is for both boys and girls.

“The camp will be divided out by age,” he said. Session I for ages 6 through 10 will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. daily, and Session II for ages 11 and older will meet from 11 a.m. to noon.

The sessions will be held in the Maverick hitting barn west of Maverick baseball field.

Neale will be assisted by Maverick baseball players. Fundamentals and skills emphasized will include balance and posture, hand slot, power “L” (back leg), stiff frontside (front leg), timing/front foot/hands, attack the inside half of ball, using the whole field and understanding the strikezone.

Each session is limited to 20 hitters. To obtain a registration form or for more information, contact Neale at 580-327-7989, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.noc.edu/baseball and click on the link for the hitting camp.
