OSBI special agents continue to investigate the murder of a Stillwater man whose body was dumped and set on fire in rural Payne County early Wednesday morning.

Investigators had been searching for Michael Hamilton’s service dog and on Monday learned the dog was shot and killed this weekend. The pit bull mix was dumped in either rural Kay or Noble County after Hamilton’s body was dumped and burned in Payne County last week. Investigators were hoping to reunite the victim’s dog with his family.

Anthony Endrina, Greg Guard and Gary Schaffner  were arrested Friday after Hamilton’s burned body was discovered in a field north of 68th Street from Range Road.

According to witnesses, Michael Hamilton was struck in the head with a ball bat and left for dead inside a Stillwater home while his service dog was nearby. After the suspects dumped Hamilton’s body, they drove to either rural Kay County or rural Noble County and dumped the dog. Hamilton had the certified service dog to help him with health problems.
