Motorcyclists Killed in Accident on Hwy 177 South of Ponca City Friday Morning

Sebastian Kuhr, 27, of Ponca City was killed when he struck a 2007 Lexus RX driven by 39-year-old Ponca City resident Veronica Abbas while driving a 2009 Harley Davidson.

The accident happened around 11:40 Friday morning at U.S. 177 southbound and eastbound Cowboy Hill Road five miles south of Ponca City.

Abbas failed to yield at a stop sign while traveling on Cowboy Hill Road and is suspected of driving while under the influence according to an OHP report.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports say Kuhr was transported to Alliance Health by a Ponca City Fire Department ambulance but died from multiple injuries.

Investigating officers and agencies include Trooper Adam Beck of the Kay/Noble County Detachment, Trooper Cagle of the Traffic Homicide Division, Lieutenant Ledbetter of the Traffic Homicide Division, the Ponca City Fire Department, Lieutenant Terrell, Kay County Sheriffs Office, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
