McCord Rural Water District 3 may be without water until Friday

Ponca City Now - June 6, 2019 10:00 am

McCord Rural Water District 3 reports it may be without water until Friday.

In an  update on the situation, the McCord Volunteer Fire Department states the district is doing everything it can to repair the line and get water to residents.

The water line that connects McCord to water from Ponca City was under 4 feet of water for a week during recent flooding and the ground is saturated. Workers cannot keep water out of  a hole surrounding the water line and cannot keep dirt from caving in.

The district istrying to get a special crew to de-water the ground so repairs can be made.

Meanwhile, residents must conserve water completely. Volunteer sources are working to make bottled water available, but more is needed.

Osage Casino Ponca City has confirmed it is closed until further notice because of the water shortage.
