(STILLWATER, OK) – The Stillwater Police Department (SPD) and Stillwater Fire Department (SFD) are actively investigating two separate arson incidents that occurred within the same week at the Chapel Ridge of Stillwater leasing office, located in the 1800 block of North Hartford Street. One suspect has been arrested in connection to both fires.
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., SFD responded to a structure fire at the leasing office. SPD officers and detectives also responded as it was determined the fire was intentionally set.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 6:29 a.m., SFD responded to a second fire at the same location. The SFD Deputy Fire Marshal contacted SPD detectives after identifying the fire as another act of arson.
Through the investigation, detectives identified a suspect connected to both incidents. The individual was identified as Trey Christopher, 32, of Stillwater.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, SPD officers contacted Christopher during an unrelated disturbance call at a local business. SPD detectives responded to the scene and placed him under arrest for two counts of second-degree arson.
Christopher was transported to the Stillwater Police Department Jail and later transferred to the Payne County Jail. He was issued a $15,000 bond and released from custody on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
