(Gray News) – About 37,000 popular squishy toys sold nationwide were recalled because they potentially pose a deadly hazard to children, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The water beads inside the recalled squishy toys expand larger than permitted by the mandatory safety standard for toys. If a water bead is ingested, it can pose a choking or obstruction hazard inside a child’s body, which can cause severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration or death.
The recalled squishy toys are dumpling and crazy squib ball toys.
The recalled squishy dumplings are model 3655 and come in multiple translucent colors containing glitter and water beads. The toys have a cartoon face and are packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer. “SQUISHY DUMPLING” is printed on the front of the removable package label. There are no markings on the product, other than the cartoon face.
The recalled crazy squib balls are model 3984 and come in multiple translucent colors containing glitter and water beads. The toys are individually wrapped in a white netting. “CRAZY SQUIB BALL” and “Squeeze it! Throw it!” are printed on the front of the package labeling.

Anyone with the recalled squishy toys should stop using them immediately and contact ABC Trading for a full refund.
The recalled toys were sold at ABC Trading stores in Los Angeles and other stores nationwide from April through June 2026 for between 41 cents and $1.25.
