OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Ally Seifried, R-Claremore, has filed a Senate resolution honoring the life and legacy of conservative leader Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated on Wednesday while speaking at a campus event at a Utah college. The 31-year-old activist devoted his career to getting young people involved in conservative politics.
“As a millennial and one of Oklahoma’s youngest state senators, I was deeply inspired by Charlie Kirk’s bold convictions and tireless commitment to engaging young people in the political process,” Senator Seifried said. “His passion helped shape my own decision to run for office, and this resolution honors the powerful legacy he leaves behind.”
Senate Resolution 23 recognizes Kirk’s deep Christian faith and remembers him as an impactful conservative visionary who led with courage and conviction. The resolution also calls on all Oklahomans to denounce political violence.
“Over the past week, I’ve heard from countless constituents who are heartbroken and outraged by the senseless act of violence that took Charlie Kirk’s life,” Senator Seifried said. “I share in their grief, and I hope Oklahomans will join me in firmly rejecting all forms of political violence. Please also join me in praying for his wife, Erika, and their two young children as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”
SR 23 is eligible to be heard when the Oklahoma Legislature convenes for its next legislative session on Feb. 2, 2026.
