Preservation Oklahoma is pleased to announce Shelley Bierschank as its new Executive Director, effective July 9th, 2025. Shelley brings a deep, lifelong passion for history and place, most recently serving as the Museum Director of the historic Henry and Anna Overholser Mansion.

In addition to managing the use and tours of the mansion, she has promoted both the mansion and POK through social media engagement, helped recognize Oklahoma’s Most Endangered Places, and advocated for current preservation issues. With a strong belief in the power of preserving spaces that tell our shared stories, Shelley is committed to advancing Preservation Oklahoma’s mission across the state.

“Since joining us in 2024 as Museum Director for the Henry and Anna Overholser Mansion, Shelley has shown tremendous drive, interest, and care in helping our state tell its story through its historic built environment,” said Chad Huntington, Preservation Oklahoma Board President. “We are thrilled to welcome Shelley in this new role, as she leads us into an exciting new chapter of advocacy, education, and preservation”

Before entering the world of preservation, Shelley built a successful 25-year career in corporate management, where she honed leadership and strategic skills she now brings to this new chapter. Her deep love of history and desire to help preserve and protect Oklahoma’s architectural history make her an excellent choice to lead the organization forward.
