OKLAHOMA CITY –Open enrollment for Sooner Select, Oklahoma’s managed care Medicaid program, closes next week, giving roughly 600,000 members a final opportunity to review or change their health plans.
Officials said only current Sooner Select members are eligible to make changes during this enrollment period, which ends next Friday, June 12.
Rebecca Sheppard with the Oklahoma Health Care Authority said, “Sooner Select is Oklahoma’s managed care Medicaid program. It’s the same coverage that you get under SoonerCare, but through a contracted health plan.”
How to make changes to Sooner Select
“We made it really easy. So you can log into your SoonerCare portal at mysoonercare.org or you can call the SoonerCare helpline and ask to speak to a choice counselor and they will assist you,” Sheppard said, adding that members can also use a step-by-step guide available through the agency’s YouTube channel.
What Sooner Select members should consider
Sheppard said open enrollment is the time for members to review their coverage and compare plan benefits.
“Open enrollment is your time to change your plan or make sure the plan is still great for you and your family,” she said.
Officials said each plan offers different “value-added” benefits, which can include wellness incentives, vaccine rewards and educational programs.
“We really want members to feel comfortable about selecting a plan that’s best for them and their families,” Sheppard said.
Next Sooner Select enrollment window
