The Turning Point USA straw poll from AmericaFest showed that Vice President J.D. Vance is the favorable nominee for the 2028 GOP presidential candidate.

“JD Vance won the 2028 nomination straw poll by more than Donald Trump won the 2024 one we did two years ago,” Blake Nuff, producer of the Charlie Kirk Show wrote on the social media platform, X.

The poll posted on X showed that 82.6% of people who attended Turning Point USA”s AmericaFest favored Vance as the 2028 nominee.

Only 7.6% of attendees wanted Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis to be the 2028 nominee and 5.8% picked Ohio GOP gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Regarding the approval for President Donald Trump’s cabinet, 29% of attendees disapprove of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s performance.

Last month, Vance said in an interview that he wanted to focus on the 2026 midterms before worrying about 2028.

“So we’re going to win the midterms, we’re going to do everything that we can to win the midterms, and then after that, I’m going to sit down with the president of the United States and talk to him about it,” Vance said, referencing potentially running for president in 2028.

It has also been reported that Secretary of State Marco Rubio may also run for president in 2028.

Some of the potential Democrats running for president include California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former Vice President Kamala Harris and Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, according to reports.
