WASHINGTON (TNND) — Vice President JD Vance on Monday slammed Congressional Democrats for voting against the Working Families Tax Cuts Act during a rally in Kansas City, Missouri.
“Every single congressional Democrat, save I believe one, voted against it,” Vance said during the rally at a manufacturing plant. “When we decided to put more money in your pocket, every single congressional Democrat, except one, a guy in Maine, voted against it.”
The Working Families Tax Cuts Act passed last year. It extends the 2017 tax cuts from President Donald Trump’s first term and expands the Child Tax Credit working Families Tax Cuts.
The official nickname for the legislation was the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
“Here’s the simple fact,” Vance said during the rally. “If you want congressional leadership that fights to lower your taxes, that fights to put more money in your pockets, and fights to protect your jobs, the only game in town is Donald J. Trump and congressional Republicans.”
Vance later went on to criticize the Democratic Party, saying it wasn’t the party that his grandparents supported.
“It’s not the Democratic Party that was patriotic and believed in supporting working people,” he said. “It’s the Democratic Party that has been given over, unfortunately, to a lot of crazy people.”
