CHESTER, OKLA. (KOKH) — Two people were taken into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody after a search warrant was served at a marijuana grow in Chester, Oklahoma.
On Sept. 24, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics’ Marijuana Enforcement Teams (OBN MET) searched the New Good Harvest 999 LLC as part of an investigation into illegal cultivation and marijuana trafficking to the black market.
Agents seized 18,644 plants, 577 lbs of processed marijuana, and took two people into ICE custody. More arrests are expected in this case.
In 2021, OBN established MET full-time statewide to address criminal organizations setting up marijuana operations in Oklahoma. At the end of 2022, 8,400 farms were operating with an active OBN Registration. As of today, OBN reports the number has dropped to 1,950.
More than 1.9 million illegal marijuana plants and more than 200,000 lbs of processed marijuana has been seized along with over 300 arrests since 2022.
